From his Cuban Mexican heritage to growing up in Rogers Park, Nathaniel Avelar uses this to create introspective hip hop under the Alias Eddie Yuma. These experiences enable him to create a sound reminiscent of 90s boom bap with reflective rhymes on top of modern production with abstract soundscapes of tomorrow. As a self-taught producer and song writer, Eddie Yuma has shared stages with Chicago heavy hitters like Vic Mensa, Qari, & Dally Auston.
Eddie is wrapping up a music business degree at Columbia College in Fall 2023. He’s also been published in Northwestern Professor Mellissa L Foster’s new book, “Don’t Sweat the Technique: A Performer’s Guide to Hip-Hop”.
He’s currently working on releasing a new concept album as well as interning at the Synch Agency, What Up Pitches. You can catch up with Eddie Yuma’s latest work on Instagram @Eddie_Yuma or reach out via email at Eddieyuma773@gmail.com.
